Ashley Paulk, Chairman
In 1965, at the age of 20, Ashley left Clemson University and returned to Valdosta to take over Valdosta Electric Company. Although the company was founded by his father, it had since been sold and buried in debt. Under Ashley's leadership the company was completely out of debt in less than ten months and was on track for tremendous growth. Three years later, in 1968, the new company headquarters was built at 3485 Bemiss Road, and still houses the company today. Ashley considers the employees the most important part of the company, so the first employee rule that he created in 1965 was "You don't work for us, you work with us." Since then, not a single employee has been laid off and that focus on employee partnership continues today. In addition to his role at Valdosta Electric Company, Ashley is currently serving his 5th term as the Sheriff of Lowndes County.
Trav Paulk, President / Project Manager
In over 25 years with Valdosta Electric Company, Trav has served as Vice President and has overseen all company operations for the past 12 years. He has managed electrical contracts up to $9.6 million and is knowledgeable in all areas and types of projects in electrical contracting. Trav is skilled in electrical design, project coordination and management, installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems. He has engineering education from Clemson University, and holds a B.B.A. Management from Valdosta State University.
Eric Shelton, Vice President / Project Manager
Eric has 15 years of experience with Valdosta Electric Company, serving in all areas related to operations and management since joining the team. He has overseen projects including commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, federal, and business complexes, with up to $5.7 million electrical contract cost. Eric is skilled in electrical design, project coordination and management, installation, maintenance, repair and testing of all electrical systems. He holds a B.B.A. Management from Valdosta State University.
David Wisenbaker, Lead Field Superintendent
David has been with Valdosta Electric Company for 30 years and has served as superintendent on many projects ranging from commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, federal, and business complexes. He's skilled in installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of all electrical systems. David coordinates with all other field personnel and superintendents and determines manpower needs and dispersal on his projects. David handles onsite meetings, material management, and project scheduling.
